The L.D. Bell High School Theatre company is an award-winning acting, improvisational, and technical organization based in Hurst, Texas. Established in 1952, our present day directors and troupe members proudly carry on the traditions and legacy of the department by producing high quality theatre. As of the 2023-2024 school year, Bell Theatre’s Troupe #949 is one of 39 Honor Troupes recognized by the International Thespian Society in the state of Texas. Students involved are taught important leadership and teamwork skills while producing quality shows that entertain their community, state, and beyond.

Our season consists of our award-winning Fall Musicals, participation in the state UIL One Act Play festival each winter, and our senior directed shows each spring. In addition, we send many students to both the state-wide Texas Thespians competition, with advancing students competing at the national level in the summer. Check out our monthly improv shows hosted and performed by the Wisecracks Improv Troupe!
